McDaniel Publishing Group provides basic music publishing administration services for music writers and producers. Some writers and producers just want to make the music and, as much as they want to, do not have the time to handle the business. They may miss out because they are unaware or just don’t have the knowledge on how to collect all of the royalties owed. McDaniel Publishing offers two basic services for a small percentage of the royalties; no upfront fee. This agreement is standard within the industry and the percentage fee is less than the standard percentage.
The difference between an Administration Publishing agreement and a basic Publishing deal is that the writer/ producer continues to own 100% of their copyright. Unfortunately, McDaniel Publishing will not solicit music supervisors for Sync placements opportunities, such as in Film and TV.
Each service is a three year contract, option to renew. McDaniel Publishing offers two options:
Agreement 1: Mechanical Royalties Only
- MPG will register and collect all mechanical royalties from the works provided, allowing you to continue to collect your own performance rights royalties;
- MPG will provide a statement and collect a fee of 12% of the royalties collected, and distribute the rest by check or your cashapp quarterly.
- MPG will register and collect all Mechanical Royalties and Performance Rights Royalties;
- If you are not a member of a performance rights organization, MPG will register you with a BMI;
- MPG will provide a statement and collect a fee of 10% of the royalties collected, and distribute the rest by check or your cashapp quarterly. Note: You will receive your full writer’s share directly from your performance rights organization.
